0412 Recurve Skeleton Concept Bass

Spec Level: Custom

Very much a proof of concept build to try out some new ideas and build techniques I have not used before. The Skeleton idea was to remove parts of the internal structure and leave the bare bones while leaving something visually interesting. The two plates front and back are made from Ash and Black Walnut laminated with a core of carbon fibre. This was a chance to try this out as a build method and to add stiffness to the overall structure. So I learned a lot it took a lot more work than I anticipated but I think it has led to something new. Will I do it again, not sure, I would certainly do it differently which is the whole point of this type of thing. Difficult to take pics of the interior spaces and bones so if you need some more let me know.
